Between fields and forests typical from the Loire Valley, Christelle & Greg had invited their families, friends and firefighters to celebrate their wedding. Simple and natural, the bride and groom wanted a day to their image by organizing a Do It Yourself home wedding : cocktail and meal in the garden, homemade decoration with witnesses, country atmosphere.

Christelle and Greg live in Louans, a small village in the heart of Loire Valley, with their two children: Maxence and Olivia. They lead a life on the double with overloaded agendas, sometimes hardly compatible with a family life … Indeed, fireman by profession, Greg does not know the usual schedules of work and the word weekend is often synonymous with non- attendance at home. This year, the lovers decided to get married and take the time to celebrate their relationship. They wanted an event in their image: simple and natural. Appointment was therefore fixed at the town hall…

Organize the cocktail in the garden

After the ceremony, Christelle and Greg had chosen to gather all their relatives for a cocktail in their garden! In a rural setting, the decoration combined the linen colors of the burlap and ocher straw boots and wheat completing their flowering. The softness of the colors chosen for the decoration added the beauty of the vintage mechanics bringing an authentic and warm atmosphere at the end of sunny afternoon.

Organizing the cocktail at home for his wedding is less complex than it seems. For example, Christelle and Greg had called in Célie, home head chef, who used the kitchen of the bride and groom to prepare the petits fours, verrines and the wedding meal. To marry at home is a concept that fit perfectly with the desire for a marriage in simplicity wanted by Christelle and Greg.

Country Do It Yourself decoration

For the atmosphere of the day, Christelle and Greg were able to count on the witnesses to decorate the cocktail garden and the reception room with a Do It Yourself rural decoration ! Wooden stand, bouquets of flowers, burlap, lace, foam bar, tealights, straw bales, cork: everything that could be made by hand! Even the old car that was used to take Christelle to the town hall was repaired few hours before the D-day! The stories of these original creations make the marriage of Christelle and Greg a unique and incomparable moment.

Completing this extraordinary day for Christelle & Greg, a rural portraits session was conducted just before the meal, in the middle of the wheat … I love this moment of the day because the couple session allows the newlyweds to find a little calm , enjoy the day together and recharge the batteries before the evening!

I was incredibly lucky to be able to photograph the marriage of these complementary and humorous lovers Christelle and Greg. The concept of rural wedding at home had immediately seduced me. I am looking forward to the next one!
